Learn to play hockey with us!

Under the supervision of head instructor Coach Sean, our hockey instructional programs are designed to teach the fundamentals of the sport while challenging players in each class. Our classes focus on different themes and ability levels — check them out!

Class sizes

Our class sizes are limited to make sure all players have room to move safely on the ice and get the attention they need to grow.

Designed for all ages

We believe players can learn at any age! From preschoolers in Tots Hockey to tweens and older in our Intro to Game Play class, players can develop their skills with their peers.

Experienced instructors

Coach Sean and Coach J-F have over two decades of teaching experience between them, and their dedication to teaching kids means all players will get the support they need!

Learning is fun!

We believe players learn best when they’re having fun! We use games to teach the fundamentals of hockey, and make sure kids leave the ice with a smile on their face every week!

Progressive levels

Our programs are aimed at different skill levels and build upon each other, so that players can move to the class that meets their development level.

Varied class times

Our programs run nearly every day of the week, so you’re sure to find a class that suits your family’s needs. Since our classes are at a set time every week, you’ll easily be able to plan your schedule for the week.

No, we do not provide equipment. All participants will be required to purchase their own equipment.

If you are looking for gently-used secondhand equipment, we recommend Play It Again Sports on St-Charles Boulevard.

Unfortunately, any participant without the proper equipment will not be allowed onto the ice for their class out of concern for their safety. No make-up classes or refunds will be provided for classes missed due to inappropriate equipment.

Spectators may watch classes from the hallway or from the gallery on the second floor. Spectators are not permitted inside the rink where the class is taking place, both for space reasons as well as to make sure instructors have children’s attention. (Plus, it’s much warmer upstairs!)

We would be happy to help! Please email Sean at stilley@excellentice-kirkland.com for more information, or you can call us at 514-695-4368.

We do not offer make-up classes, credits or refunds for missed classes once the season has started.

Since we have so many class types, our instructors are able to assess and move skaters to other classes if they feel it is appropriate, space permitting. (If classes are full, skaters may be placed on a waitlist.)

We recommend placing your name on the waiting list for the class you want if it’s full, which you can also do online! If a spot opens up for your child, we will notify you. Otherwise, we offer classes at other times which may be suitable for your needs.
